Prior to launching her own private practice, Dr. Gina Sam has been instrumental in establishing the Stony Brook University Gastrointestinal Motility Center. Other key roles include her position as Director of the Gastrointestinal Motility Center at Mount Sinai Hospital, as well as her role as Assistant Professor in the Division of Gastroenterology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Sam attended Tufts University School of Medicine and received her MPH degree with a concentration on Community Health in 2003. Furthermore, she conducted her internal medicine residency at Lenox Hill Hospital (2003-2006), followed by her gastroenterology fellowship conducted at NYU School of Medicine (2006-2009). Dr. Sam received board certification in internal medicine and the subspecialty of gastroenterology from the American Board of Internal Medicine. She remains in good standing with the American Medical Association, the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterological Association, the American Neurogastroenterology and Motility Society, and the New York Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
